More photos of the USA Big Boy.    Also highlights the paint damage on the engineer's side of the boiler, it's worse than what I originally thought.  From the looks of it, it appears the styrofoam attacked the paint.  I just hope this wasn't general problem will a large number of them.

Also had to bolt the bottom platform back together as it completely split in two down one of the flange grooves.  Seems like overkill but wanted to do everything I could to ensure nothing happened to the engine in transit back to USA Trains.  I don't think the platform is going to break again.

USA Trains sent a brand new replacement and here are the photos.  The only real issue with this one is it has a similar airbrush touchup job on the other side of the smokebox, except this time it's done with flat paint.  Other than that the engine looks great.  As I've said before, this has to be one of the finest largescale models ever made.  It is so finely detailed that it really looks like a replica of the real thing... you almost forget you're looking at a model.  I have spent hours just looking this thing over.  In 1:29 scale the Big Boy is a MONSTER!  I mean this is one enormous engine!  If you are contemplating ordering one, remember that they are pretty heavy, but I feel strongly that you won't regret your purchase.

The display case for the Big Boy arrived and now have it under glass.  For anyone curious, I purchased the case from:

It is the G-60 case and sells for $150.00
